I was playing around with the HP 2710p the other night and noticed that the HP Software utility listed as an installable option so of course I went for it. Quicklook installed two icons in my Outlook toolbar, one for configuring the utility and the other to force an update. Quicklook can do its magic by importing your Outlook information into the Quicklook environment so that Outlook doesn’t have to be running (nor does the Tablet) when you use Quicklook. Once Quicklook has done an initial sync, which only took 10 seconds, I gave it a try. I put the 2710p in sleep mode without Outlook running and when it was sound asleep I pressed the Info key on the side of the screen.

In about two seconds Quicklook fired up with the Today screen showing (screen shot from the HP website since the Tablet is not really running at this point).
